inferno copy chief John Hilgart featured in England’s “The Guardian”
The creativity of the inferno team runs in a lot of different directions, which makes for an exciting office environment and gives an added spark to our award-winning work. We have a semi-pro golfer and a professional singer in account service. One of our copywriters is also a photographer and DJ. Memphis' hardest working drummer plays in our interactive department.
The agency's copy chief and senior strategist, John Hilgart, generally deals in words, but he also has a graphics blog, 4CP - Four Color Process, where he posts extreme enlargements of tiny details from vintage comic books. This online gallery is a celebration of the big dots and cheap, off-kilter printing that inspired pop art in the 1960s. 4CP has gotten a good deal of attention, and it was recently featured in the The Guide — the weekly culture magazine of the U.K. newspaper The Guardian.
