Motivating a sales force to engage new technologies

The FedEx Electronic Channels Marketing (EC) group wanted to raise its profile at the 2007 National Sales Meeting. The potential uses of mobile devices as business tools were skyrocketing, but they were not yet fully appreciated by reps.
Our challenge was to drive traffic to the EC booth, where reps could experience FedEx technology products firsthand and fully grasp the ways in which they could connect them to their customers, boost loyalty, and help them close business in FY08.
inferno developed the CONNECTION theme and look to bring all these messages together. The technology-focused theme was developed across multiple channels, including a newspaper wrap that was delivered to each rep’s hotel room. A giveaway of some of the first iPhones further enticed reps to experience all of the booth’s online demos.
More than 1,065 sales representatives participated in the interactive demos at the sales meeting, compared to 300 the year prior, a 255% increase overall.
